You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly at mobilefixstudio@outlook.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
We will never sell your personal data to third parties or use it for any purpose that you have not been informed about.
Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for every type of processing. We rely on the following bases:
Contract Performance (Article 6(1)(b))
Processing your contact, device and booking data is necessary to fulfil our repair or sales contract with you. Without this data we cannot provide the service.
Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f))
We may process your data to improve our services, prevent fraud, and respond to communications where our legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Legal Obligation (Article 6(1)(c))
We retain certain financial records to comply with HMRC requirements and other applicable legal obligations.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a))
For marketing communications, non-essential cookies and certain analytics, we rely on your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law:
- Repair records & device data — 2 years from repair date (to support 90-day warranty and follow-up service)
- Financial transaction records — 6 years (HMRC requirement)
- Uploaded device images — deleted within 90 days of repair completion unless retained by your consent
- Contact form enquiries — 12 months from last contact
- Marketing consent records — retained until consent is withdrawn, then deleted within 30 days
- Analytics data — retained in anonymised or aggregated form indefinitely; identifiable data deleted after 26 months
- Booking and quote data — 12 months from date of submission if no repair was completed
- Sell Your Phone enquiries — 12 months from date of submission if no sale was completed; IMEI and device photos deleted within 30 days of a declined or lapsed offer
When data reaches the end of its retention period, it is securely deleted or anonymised so that it can no longer identify you.
You may request early deletion of your data at any time. We will comply unless we are required by law to retain it for a specified period.
Third-Party Services & Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it with trusted third parties only where necessary:
Payment Processing — Stripe
Online payments (refurbished phones, accessories, and the £10 booking fee) are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. When you pay online, your card number and payment details are entered directly on Stripe's encrypted, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified checkout page. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe may retain your name, email address, card type and transaction data in accordance with their own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Stripe is a data processor acting on our behalf for the purpose of processing your payment.
For in-person card payments, we use a mobile payment terminal. The same principle applies — card details are processed by the terminal provider and are not stored on our systems.
Website Hosting & Infrastructure
Our website is hosted on cloud infrastructure. Hosting providers have access only to server-level data (logs, IP addresses) and are bound by data processing agreements.
Analytics Providers
We may use services such as Google Analytics or similar tools that process anonymised usage data. You can opt out of analytics tracking via our cookie consent banner or your browser settings.
Parts & Courier Suppliers
Where we need to order parts or arrange collection, we share only the minimum data necessary (name and contact details) with our suppliers. All suppliers are required to handle data in compliance with UK data protection law.
Legal & Professional Advisors
We may share data with our accountant, solicitor or other professional advisors under strict confidentiality obligations, and with law enforcement or regulators where legally required.
Any third parties we engage are required to handle your data only on our instructions and in compliance with UK GDPR. We do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a UK data subject, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. These rights are free to exercise and we will respond within 30 calendar days:
- Right of access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request)
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data ('right to be forgotten'), subject to legal obligations
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV)
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing
- Rights related to automated decision-making — we do not use automated profiling or algorithmic decision-making that produces legal or significant effects
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at mobilefixstudio@outlook.com or by post to Belle Vale Shopping Centre, Unit 1, Childwall Valley Road, Liverpool, L25 2RQ. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Email & Marketing Communications
We take a consent-first approach to all marketing communications. You will only receive promotional emails if you have explicitly opted in.
Transactional Emails
We will always send you emails that are necessary for the service you have requested — such as booking confirmations, repair updates, invoices and warranty information. These are not marketing emails and do not require separate consent.
Promotional Emails
If you opted in during checkout or via our newsletter sign-up, you may receive promotional emails about offers, new services or refurbished phone availability. Every marketing email includes a clear, functional unsubscribe link.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe at any time by:
- Clicking the 'unsubscribe' link in any marketing email
- Emailing us at mobilefixstudio@outlook.com with the subject 'Unsubscribe'
- Calling us at 07833 790004
Unsubscribing from marketing will not affect your ability to receive transactional or service-related communications.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction or alteration:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted to and from our website
- Encrypted storage for sensitive personal and business records
- Access controls ensuring only authorised personnel can view customer data
- Secure deletion of data at the end of its retention period
- Regular review of our security practices and third-party processors
While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you suspect your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at mobilefixstudio@outlook.com.
